學生和家長經常一聽到「測驗」就開始焦慮,但如果 方法正確,考試確實能提高學習成效。

貝恩教室裡的談笑,跟全美國公立學校裡的緊張、冷漠相比,簡直天壤之別。2002年制訂的「不放棄任何孩童法案」(No Child Left Behind Act)規定,從三年級到八年級,「每個孩子在每年」都要接受測驗,但家長和教師的反對聲浪與日俱增。越來越多家長選擇不讓孩子參加該州的年度測驗;發起「退考」運動的可能是紐約州,據說2014年春天在某些學區有高達90%的學生拒絕參加年度測驗。有些人批評美國的學校太強調測驗,他們指控高度利害關係的評量會造成師生的焦慮,把教室變成準備考試的工廠,而不是真正為了學習的實驗室。

美國學生該如何受教育的爭論總是各說各話,測驗已經成為其中最受爭議的話題,但目前為止的討論幾乎都沒有碰觸到關鍵。認知科學和心理學的研究顯示,如果方法正確,測驗將是特別有效的學習方法。讓學生接受測驗,並在測驗前後配合精心設計的活動,比不考試的教學更能回憶教學內容,也能理解更深度、更複雜的事物。但是測驗制度若要積極輔助學習,不光是評量而已,跟今日美國的學校所進行的測驗大不相同。

提取練習能強化記憶

提取練習不是把測驗當做評量工具,而是把測驗當做學習的機會,但能這麼想的前提是我們已認知到過去誤會了測驗的本質。我們總把測驗想成某種能植入學生腦袋的量尺,上面的刻度能告訴我們,裡面的知識水準已上升到哪裡,但事實上,學生每次從記憶裡叫喚出知識,那份記憶就會改變,心智表徵會更強、更穩定,也更容易存取。
為何會這樣?普渡大學認知心理學教授卡皮克(Jeffrey Karpicke)表示,我們不可能記住自己遇到的每件事情,這樣其實很合理。因為我們在記憶時必須有所選擇,一項事實或概念有用(我們之前有多常想起它就是最好的證明),就成了選擇時的充份基準。卡皮克解釋:「我們的心智對於將來可能需要的知識很敏感,如果我們現在提取一份資訊,就表示將來很可能還需要它。提取記憶的過程,就是提醒我們未來還會遇到需要這項記憶的機會。」

有一些研究透過大腦的功能性磁共振造影(fMRI),正逐漸揭露測驗效應背後的神經機制。在目前已完成的少數研究中,科學家發現,跟單純的重複研讀相比,從記憶裡叫喚出資訊,大腦某些區域的活動會更加頻繁,這些腦區與記憶的固化或穩定有關,並且能產生線索,讓記憶在之後隨時提供存取。在好幾項不同的研究裡,研究人員都證明了,這些腦區在初始的學習階段越活躍,受試者在幾星期或幾個月後能成功回憶的機率就越高。
根據卡皮克的說法,提取是學習的主要方式。他說:「比起一開始把資訊儲存在記憶裡,回憶起那些已儲存的資訊,會是更為有力的學習活動。說到底,讓新記憶固定下來的其實是提取這項過程。」

測驗越多,學習成效未必越好

然而,即使有強力證據支撐,倡導提取練習的人仍面對一個問題:眾多教師和家長對測驗有本能性的負面反應。此外,他們還會遭遇另一個更縝密的質疑,對方的看法類似這樣:美國學生已經接受太多測驗,遠超過其他國家的學生,例如芬蘭和新加坡,但這兩個國家在國際評鑑上卻常常領先美國。如果測驗是一種很棒的學習方法,為何美國的學生表現不佳呢?

健康的飲食計畫

  1. 限制或消除所有的加工食品,並你的飲食聚焦於新鮮完整的食物(粗糧),以避免吃進各種防腐劑、色素、香精等人工添加物。

教師自編測驗中各種題型的擬題原則

是非題擬題原則

1. 題目應避免直抄課文或斷章取義
2. 若是要考對因果關係的瞭解,應該使前句和後句都是正確的,至於兩者的關係則可以為對或錯
3. 除非是在考因果關係,否則同一個題目中不可含有兩種概念
4. 避免使用界定適用範圍的限定詞,如:所有的、有些、只有等等
5. 避免使用否定句,尤其是雙重否定的句子
6. 避免使答案為「是」的敘述總是比答案為「非」的長
7. 答案為「是」的與答案為「非」的題數不可相差太多,答案也不可作規則性的排列
8. 敘述要明確,使各專家都得到一致的答案
9. 切忌故意出誘人上當的題目;或因疏於校對,而在關鍵字上出現錯字
10. 若採用答錯倒扣方式計分,應該在作答說明中明確告知

A.題幹方面

1. 題幹應該意義完整,且明確地界定問題
2. 題幹的遣詞用字要前後一致,並配合學生閱讀能力水準

4. 避免題目與題目之間相互提供作答線索
5. 避免以前一題答案作為下一題的基礎

B.選項內容方面

6.每一題目應該有三到五個彼此互斥的選項,而其中只有一個才是正確或最佳答案
7.誘答必須具備似真性,或各選項之間要有同質性
8.避免使正確答案顯得特別長
9.如果所有的選項都有共同的文字,應該把該文字移到題幹上
10.要避免選項編號與選項內容相混淆
11.盡量避免使用「以上皆是」的答案
12.謹慎使用「以上皆非」的答案

C.選項排列方面

13.正確答案應隨機出現在各個選項位置上
14.各個答案之間應儘量依邏輯順序排列
15.選項的排列格式要一致、整齊

 

辨錯題擬題原則

1. 所考的字彙應該是重要的,而非太冷僻或太專業的字
2. 所考的字彙應該只有一種拼法或寫法,以免造成答案的爭議
3. 因為選項很容易編擬,應增多選項以降低猜對率

 

配合題擬題原則

1. 要事先決定前提項與反應項之間的配對關係
2. 前提項以五至八個之間最為適當
3. 反應項的數目可以比前提項數目多或少,並應該在作答說明中告知配對原則,以及每一反應項可重複選用
4. 各前題項之間應具有同質性,各反應項之間亦同
5. 同一大題的內容都要排放在同一頁上
6. 把較長的敘述放在左邊當作前題項,以數字來標示;較短的敘述(片語、名詞、符號)放在右邊當作反應項,以英文字母或注音符號來標示順序
7. 反應項應該儘可能依照邏輯順序排列

 

克漏字擬題原則

1. 所選的文章要不同於常見的教材,且是原著,最好出自名家之手
2. 文章的前面幾個句子最好不要有空字
3. 在抓字時,間隔不可太小
4. 刪詞時要避開專有名詞、人名、地名、及數字與日期
5. 應該詳細說明作答方法
6. 以填空法作答時,計分標準要採「可接受」答案,而非「正確」答案

 

資料理解式試題組合(閱讀測驗)擬題原則

1. 所選的資料內容要新穎,但是要與課程內容和教學目標有關
2. 所選的資料要配合受試者之學習經驗與閱讀能力
3. 要考慮不同性別或社經背景學生對於所選之資料的熟悉程度,以免產生測驗偏袒(bias)現象
4. 呈現資料時要儘量使用原件,但必要時可加以修改,使之更清晰、簡潔
5. 編擬試題時要強調學生對資料的分析與解釋能力,而不是有關的背景知識或表面的事實資料
6. 試題的題數宜與資料的長度或複雜程度成正比

 

重組題擬題原則

1. 用以排列的項目要在三個以上,七個以下
2. 各項目要隨機排列,並加以編號
3. 要確定只有一種正確的排列順序

 

填空題擬題原則

1. 能夠以選擇、填充方式考的內容就不要使用簡答題
2. 填充題單一題目中不可有太多的空格,以免學生無法把握題意
3. 空格中要填的應該是重要的概念,而不是無關緊要的字詞
4. 各題所留的空格長度要一致,並放在句子末尾
5. 儘量使用直接問句,少用未完成語句
6. 若答案與測量或數量有關時,應該指明答案所用單位和精確度
7. 不要將教材原文照抄之後,省略一字詞做為填充題題目
8. 應該備有標準答案及明確的計分標準,但與標準答案不同而仍合理的仍應給分數

 

解釋名詞或默寫擬題原則

1. 要解釋的名詞應該是重要的專有名詞或課程的核心概念
2. 要解釋的專業術語,若有多種譯名時應該加註原文
3. 要求學生默寫的內容應該是非常重要的要點,或是值得背誦的文章
4. 要考默寫的範圍應該事先告知學生

光碟資料庫的選用與搜尋

「光碟資料庫」是指將經過整理的資料,以某種方法索引排序,將資料儲存於光碟之中。光碟是一種繼紙張、微縮資料、電腦磁碟之後,用來儲存資訊的光學媒體。具有儲存大量資料的特性,每一片光碟大約可容納相當於250,000張A4紙張的儲存量。使用者可以利用電腦終端設備,依照自己的資訊需求,透過檢索指令及檢索策略查詢資料庫中的資料,並且能以許多不同的檢索點及更具彈性的檢索方式(例如布林邏輯)來擴大或縮小資料檢索的範圍,使得找資料的過程變成輕鬆又有趣。

利用光碟資料庫前必須先了解一個基本概念,就是為了保障著作人的著作權益,必須遵守著作權法的相關規定。尚未取得著作權人授權的原文資料,都無法透過光碟資料庫提供給讀者利用。因此許多的光碟資料庫僅提供書目及摘要資料,亦即提供給讀者的是獲得原文的「線索」,該篇資料的出處,而非直接提供資料的原文供讀者利用。

一、如何選擇適當的光碟資料庫查詢


光碟資料庫的種類很多,找資料時到底該從何下手呢?若想了解某個有興趣的主題時,可以利用百科全書的光碟資料庫。若想要查詢某個字詞的意義或用法,可以利用字辭典的光碟資料庫。若要著手寫一份研究報告,確定主題之後,可先從期刊論文索引、報紙論文索引、博碩士論文索引,了解有哪些相關主題的文獻可供參考,或從圖書目錄光碟了解有哪些著作可以利用。有了這些相關資料的線索之後,再從圖書館的線上公用目錄中,確定所查到的圖書、期刊、博碩士論文,圖書館是否已經典藏。若圖書館尚未典藏,則可利用聯合目錄光碟查知哪一個圖書館有典藏,透過館際合作取得原文。因此,利用光碟資料庫時,依照自己的資訊需求,選擇適當的資料庫是很重要的。

二、光碟資料庫例舉


茲將常用的光碟資料庫分為下列數類,擇要介紹中西文光碟資料庫數種:

(一)、報紙論文索引


若想查詢報紙上的新聞報導,或是報紙上的資訊,可試試下列資料庫:
1.《中文報紙論文索引光碟》 (漢珍資訊公司,民國45年—) 收錄中華日報、民生報、民眾日報、自立早報、自立晚報等20種中文報紙之專欄專文索引,涵蓋的主題以社會科學為主(包括商業和企業管理)。
2.《即時報紙標題索引資料庫》 (毅欣資訊公司出版,民國85年—) 收錄中國時報、聯合報、中央日報、經濟日報、工商時報等當日的新聞標題索引,涵蓋政治、社會、財經、影藝等主題及新聞事件。
3.《Newspaper Abstracts Ondisc》美國各大報資料庫 (University Microfilms International出版,1985—)收錄美國主要報紙上各種文章的索引及摘要,提供快速檢索報紙的管道。

(二)、期刊論文索引


若想了解某個主題有哪些文章可以閱讀,曾經發表在哪些期刊上,或想查詢某個人寫過哪些文章,通常可利用下列不同的光碟系統進行查詢:
1. 《中華民國期刊論文索引光碟系》 (國家圖書館出版,民國59年—) 收錄發表於臺灣、香港、澳門、新加坡地區所出版的學術期刊上的中外論文篇目,近800,000筆資料。
2. 《Periodical Abstracts 期刊文獻資料庫》 (University Microfilms International出版,1986—) 提供期刊文獻的摘要、索引及全文,涵蓋藝術、教育、法律、文學評論等主題,並收錄華爾街日報及紐約時報最新6個月的資料。

 (三)、圖書目錄


若想了解某個主題的出版狀況、某個主題有哪些著作可以利用?或想了解某本特定圖書的基本資料,例如書名、作者、出版社、出版年等,可藉此類光碟掌握出版資訊。
1. 《中華民國出版圖書目錄光碟》 (飛資得資訊公司,民國70年—) 收錄360,000筆完整的國家圖書館標準書目資料,可做為線上查詢的即時參考工具。
2. 《Books In Print 美國現行出版圖書資料庫》 (R.R. Bowker) 收錄美國31,000餘家出版商正在發行及未來6個月內即將出版的圖書資料。內容包括書名、作者、主題、出版商、出版年、價格等。

(四)、聯合目錄


聯合目錄就是將圖書館或資料單位之間的館藏目錄整合之後,將每一筆館藏記錄註明各個圖書館典藏情形的目錄。若圖書館未典藏所需要的圖書或期刊時,可利用聯合目錄得知何處有典藏,透過館際合作取得原文資料。

1. 《全國西文期刊暨西文科技圖書聯合目錄》 (行政院國家科學技術資料中心,民國64年—) 此資料庫是以行政院國家科學委員會科學技術資料中心「全國科技資訊網路」之「全國西文科技圖書聯合目錄」 為基礎製作而成的。收錄國內100個館藏單位約280,000筆西文科技圖書館館藏記錄。

(五)、博碩士論文索引


目前典藏國內博碩士論文最完整的圖書館,是國家圖書館及國立政治大學社會科學資料中心,想查閱國內博碩士論文的原文時,可試試上述兩個圖書館。若想訂購美加地區的博碩士論文原文,訂購方式及費用可參考網址: (http://202.39.130.70/umi3.htm)

1. 《中文博碩士論文索引光碟》 (漢珍資訊公司,民國45年—) 收錄臺灣地區各大學研究所的博碩士論文索引(含部份香港地區之博碩士論文)。
2. 《Dissertation Abstracts OnDisc》 (University Microfilms International出版,1961—)涵蓋北美及歐洲地區1,000餘所大學及研究所百餘萬篇博士論文及部份碩士論文的書目索引和每篇350字左右的摘要。範圍包括:生物學、商學、教育、電腦、社會、文學、法律、政治學、藝術、心理學等學術領域。

三、資料庫的搜尋技巧


利用光碟資料庫查詢資訊優點多多,各家資訊公司發展的檢索介面功能也大同小異,但是各種檢索指令及語法卻各不相同,造成使用者必須熟悉多種檢索畫面,容易混淆而產生許多困擾。

除此之外,有時候也會有其他檢索上的煩惱。例如,查到了上千筆的資料,要花費許多時間和精神去過濾出最符合需求的資料;有時候檢索的結果是0筆,難道真的就是沒有所需要的相關資料嗎?

其實,想要獲得比較精確的檢索結果,或是提高查詢時的查獲率,都可以利用下列各種檢索技巧來改善:

1. 選擇適合的資料庫。

常常有讀者坐在電腦前,不管三七二十一先查了再說,查了半天都找不到資料,還以為圖書館未收藏所需要的資料。例如,要查詢發表在期刊上某個主題的文章,應該利用期刊論文索引系統查詢,卻用圖書館的公用目錄查詢系統。因此,搜尋資料前應該依照您個人的需求,視資料庫種類、涵蓋的主題、資料收錄的範圍、年限來選擇適合的資料庫。

2. 選擇適當的檢索辭彙。

當查詢結果資料量很少或是0筆時,有時可能是打錯字,試試同義詞或相關的辭彙,常常會有意想不到的結果。

3. 注意輔助說明。

大多數的資料庫都有很詳盡的操作說明可供直接查閱,查詢過程中的任何問題,幾乎都可從中得到解答,輔助說明可視為最有耐心的小幫手。

4. 功能鍵的使用。

想要了解光碟資料庫有哪些功能,將每個功能鍵都按按看是最快最有效的方法。別擔心會把電腦玩壞了,放心大膽地試試!

5. 了解各個欄位的意義。

了解資料庫各欄位的意義之後,可以清楚知道有哪些檢索欄位可供檢索。各欄位能否直接查詢?或是不能單獨使用,必須與其他欄位配合(進行AND、NOT運算),才能夠檢索?

6. 善用瀏覽索引的功能。

不確定用什麼辭彙來檢索時,利用瀏覽索引的功能,輸入查詢辭彙後,系統會將最接近或符合該檢索點的詞列出,以供使用者參考或選擇,由此可幫助我們選擇適當的辭彙來進行檢索。

7. 查閱索引典。

當不確定用什麼辭彙來檢索時,查閱索引典可幫助使用者了解檢索辭彙的定義及用法,更可幫助我們了解是否有相關詞、廣義詞或狹義詞可提供檢索。

8. 布林邏輯。

透過布林邏輯AND、OR、NOT,將辭彙做組合查詢,可擴大或縮小檢索範圍,使我們的查詢結果能更精確或更廣泛。例如:「測驗 AND 網路」、「有線電視 OR 第四臺」。

9. 萬用符號。

當英文的檢索辭彙,不確定其拼法,或查到的資料太少時,可利用萬用符號進行查詢。通常多以符號*或?表示英文字的萬用替代符號,視不同的資料庫而有所不同。例如:輸入「Librar?」,會檢索出「Librarian」、 「Libraries」、「Librarianship」、「Library」等字,可藉此擴大檢索範圍。

10. 限制欄位檢索。 

當檢索結果資料量太多時,可以利用限制欄位檢索縮小查詢範圍,使找到的資料更符合所需,達到更精確檢索的目的。例如、指定檢索辭彙出現在特定的欄位中(如出現於題名、主題、摘要等),或限制某個年代、某種語文等。

11. 修正檢索策略。

有時候查詢無法一次就獲得理想的檢索結果,需要綜合上述各種檢索技巧,不斷的修正檢索策略才能獲得理想的結果。

各種應試技巧

考前準備


  1. 從上課的第一天開始就認真地上課和寫作業。
  2. 讀!讀!讀!多讀報紙、雜誌、小說、非小說、精裝的、平裝的。
  3. 儘可能多練習一些比較少見的題型,例如:語文類推。
  4. 多做習題或以前的試題,以熟悉試題格式及作答方式。
  5. 學習要有規律,經常研究功課、定期複習。
  6. 上課中要認真做筆記,課後要整理補充。
  7. 研究功課時,把重點放在(1)重要事實、(2)比較、和(3)關係。
  8. 找些朋友組成讀書會,互相討論、請教。
  9. 把你所理解的材料整理成綱要或圖表。
  10. 擬定學習計畫,列出你要準備的科目以及學習時間的分配方式。
  11. 不要只靠上課的筆記,要打聽考試的範圍、材料、題型等。
  12. 試著去解讀教材中的各種圖解和表格。

考試前一天與當天


  1. 聰明的吃,好好的睡。
  2. 配合天氣和場合,穿上寬鬆舒適的服裝。
  3. 戴上準確又容易看得清楚的錶。
  4. 多準備幾支筆和好用的橡皮擦。
  5. 必要時自備茶水和應急藥品。
  6. 把塞車時間算在內,提前出發,不要遲到。

考場上


  1. 若可以自由選座位,儘可能遠離那些會干擾你的同學。
  2. 若是用靠臂式桌椅,而你恰好是左拐子,趕快要求換桌椅。
  3. 使用深呼吸或積極的自我暗示來控制你的焦慮。
  4. 生理上要放鬆,心理上要警覺,對自己要有信心。
  5. 仔細閱讀指導語(作答說明),若不瞭解,要立即發問。
  6. 若有例題供你練習,一定要做。
  7. 由指導語中所給的時間限制和答案紙上的題數,粗略估計每題平均可用時。

一般性答題技巧


  1. 若不倒扣就要儘量猜答。
  2. 在閱讀與字彙測驗中,如果你不認得那個字,可依據上下文或部首、字根來猜。
  3. 要熟悉英文字中常用的接首字(prefixes)和接尾字(suffixes)。
  4. 找出那些彼此能相互提供答案線索的題目。
  5. 由試題中尋找語文的線索。
  6. 在非語文的數字系列或字母系列測驗中,尋找其變化組型(pattern)。

不同題型答題技巧


是非題


  1. 是非題中若用了絕對式的限定詞,如「從不」、「一定」則其答案通常為「非」。
  2. 是非題的敘述越長,則其答案越可能為「是」。
  3. 是非題中,若有一部份敘述是錯的,則答案應該為「非」。
  4. 簡答題通常測量回憶能力,試題著重在重要的事實、事件、日期、人名、概念、和公式等。

選擇題


  1. 即使只能辨認出一個不正確的答案,也要大膽的猜答。
  2. 即使完全不懂題意,也可以比較各個答案,來縮小正確答案範圍。
  3. 沒經驗的命題者常把正確答案放在第二或第三個選項上。
  4. 當某一個選項其敘述特別長時,它就有比較可能是正確答案。
  5. 當選項都是日期或數量時,正確答案通常不會放在兩端的選項上。

填充題


  1. 填充題常用以測量回憶的能力,試題內容多偏重重要事實、事件人名、概念、公式等等。
  2. 填充題不會時,常可以從選擇題或是非題那兒得到猜答線索。

配合題


  1. 在配合題中,左右兩欄資料各自有其主題,所以在答案欄中刪去不符主題的答案,可提高答對機率。
  2. 配合題通常以下列為材料,如:日期和事件、人物與貢獻、術語和定義、作者和作品。


申論題


  1. 準備論文式考試之前,要複習教師所強調的主要觀念。
  2. 要看清楚題目的關鍵字,例如:比較、解釋、討論、批判、界定、評鑑等等,以避免答案文不對題。
  3. 回答申論題之前,要先擬好答題內容綱要,不可想到什麼就寫什麼。
  4. 按試題順序作答,每題另起一頁,以顯示你的組織能力,並方便閱卷者批閱。
  5. 按照各題佔總分的比例來分配各題作答時間。
  6. 回答申論題時,要開宗明義說出你的看法,然後提出理由支持你的看法,並舉出例證支持你的理由。
  7. 答完申論題之後,要檢查標點符號、錯別字、句子結構、文法等。
  8. 要對自己有信心,不要塗塗改改。

克服考試焦慮


社會助長與社會抑制作用


社會心理學家發現當有人在旁邊督導時,工作效率有時候增加,有時候則會降低,再進一步分析,機械性、單調的、不需要經常做判斷與選擇的工作,旁邊有人督導會產生社會助長作用;而複雜的、多變化、需要經常做判斷與選擇的工作,旁邊有人督導,則會產生社會抑制作用。

所以,一般的能力測驗,除了少數,如校對測驗、手指靈巧測驗等速度測驗之外,都屬於需要經常做判斷選擇的工作,有人在旁邊關心、監看反而會使考生焦慮,降低考生的表現,造成社會抑制作用。

高注碼與自我涉入程度


高注碼測驗就是指依據分數高低以二分法做決策的測驗,判斷結果(合格或不合格,錄取或不錄取)對於測驗所涉及的考生或單位會造成直接且重要的影響,例如,大學入學考試、專業證照考試、公務人員高等考試等。

由於測驗結果的利害關係愈大,所以受試者投入準備的時間、精力就愈多,而作弊的可能性也就愈大,也因此民眾對於該測驗的公平性與客觀性的要求就愈高。這類測驗考生的得失心也越大,會造成高度的測驗焦慮。

表達的技巧

書面表達技巧

在書面表達技巧這部分,將討論人們以文字作溝通的基本要素,這些要素是閱讀專家在探討教科書的可讀性時所歸納出來的,它們可分成「內容可理解程度」和「視覺清晰度」,前者是撰寫內容者要注意的,是要讓讀者容易懂;後者是打字排版者要注意的,是要讓讀者容易看。當然,現代越來越多人自己撰寫,也自己打字排版,所以同時都要注意。

內容可理解程度


若要讓你的文章清晰、易懂,不會被誤解或心生排斥,你可以從下列四方面去改進,它們雖然不能讓你寫出絕佳妙文,但是卻是要讓所有類型文章達到清晰溝通時,所應具備的基本條件。

字彙熟悉度


這是指你在文章中所用的字彙是否有冷僻深奧的字,或夾雜太多一般人不熟悉的專業術語或地方俚語。閱讀研究者通常以字彙在日常報章雜誌上的出現頻率作為字彙熟悉度的指標,網路上也可以找到有關字頻研究的工具結果

您若擔心您的用詞用字是否過於深奧,解決之道在於事先了解讀者的教育水準和專業背景,設身處地推測讀者能夠理解到哪一層次的字彙。

用字精確度


這是指你在文章中是否經常使用過度抽象的字眼,例如,「自由」、「權利」等,卻不加以定義,卻假定讀者對於這些字彙的理解是和你一樣,讓讀者越看越感困惑。

中國人的表達習慣常常是「馬馬虎虎」、「含含糊糊」,不習慣用數字或比例來表示,而總是說,「大約」、「有些」、「很大比例是」等等,若你擁有調查數據,就據實報導,不要像道聽途說的謠言散佈者,隨便用「根據有關方面表示…」來說些不負責任的話。

句型複雜度


這是指你的句子是否過於冗長,而導致不易理解。這一點國人在閱讀英文時都應有深刻體會,常常句子中每個字都已經弄懂了,但是還是不知道這一句到底在說些什麼,這通常是句子中含有太多形容詞、副詞或是子句。
閱讀研究者通常以平均每個句子含有幾個單字做為該篇文章句型複雜程度的指標,進而分析文章的可讀性。

由於以書面表達時,讀者可以自行控制閱讀速度,可以隨時停下來思考,所以所用句型即使比口語表達時來的複雜,也不至於妨礙理解,但是還是要看讀者程度,作適當調整,比如分成兩句來表達,或是利用圖表作解說,都有利於理解。

段落邏輯性


段落邏輯性是指你的文章的各個段落的排列順序,是否按照時間順序或因果關係來排列。除非你是寫懸疑偵探小說或是「意識流」之類的小說,否則竟應按照邏輯順序來排列,不要讓讀者一邊讀一邊要像排拼圖般的在腦海中重新排列你的文章。

寫文章不要想到什麼就寫什麼,要先用不同層級的標題擬出整個綱要,檢查它們的邏輯關係,再寫各標題下的細節內容,才不會敘述凌亂,讓人覺得不知所云。

視覺清晰程度


這一部分是桌面排版(desktop publishing)所專精的領域,本真不擬深入探討,但是隨著微電腦的普及,以及文書處理軟體進化成與排版軟體難以區分,有越來越多的人自己打字排版,所以不能不知道這方面的知識。

形象與背景


文字和背景顏色要成對比。
文壓圖時,字要大,背景要單純,才不會構成干擾。

字體與字型


字體大小要依閱讀環境(文字與眼睛的距離)和讀者的年齡來調整。
不同字型會引發不同感覺,不熟悉的字型會降低閱讀速度,甚至引起挫折感。

字距、行距、段距


字距小則版面暗,使人有擁擠,不舒服感覺。
行距會引導閱讀是線的移動,太小或太大都容易讀錯行。
段距要大於行距,才能使各段落之間有明顯區分。

口語表達技巧


口語表達能力可以由聲音傳達、文法與字彙、內容適切性、和組織四個層面來加以評斷,所以在訓練或練習時也可以從這四方面來努力。

聲音傳達


指音量大小、說話速度、發音咬字方面是否適當。

不良的聲音傳達是音量太小或速度太快或發音不清,而無法理解大部分的內容。或者停頓太久或有不適當的停頓,夾雜許多「嗯」「啊」的聲音。

而良好的聲音傳達要音量和速度適中,發音咬字清晰。最好還要能變化音量和速度以吸引聽眾注意力,並以熱忱和活力來傳達訊息。

文法與字彙適切性


指能否針對聽眾的程度來使用不同程度的字彙及文法。

用詞用字不當的表達通常是字彙貧乏或過度深奧、文法不當,難以理解大部分內容。差強人意的則是使用具體字彙及簡單文法結構,句子簡單而平淡。

良好的表達應該能使用配合聽眾程度的抽象字彙及複雜文法結構,語氣符合要求。最好還要能使用各種語言表達技巧,如情緒語言、幽默、想像、隱喻、直喻。

內容適切性


指能否針對聽眾的背景來選用比喻、例證等。
內容不適切的表達是指沒有實質內容或說一些無關的話,太自我中心而忽略了聽眾與情境。或者是內容不足以符合要求,脫離主題,忽略聽眾的程度和背景。

而內容適切的表達是內容能切合主題,所用的字眼及概念能配合一般聽眾的知識與經驗。最佳的是能針對要求提供各種內容,如類推、細節、舉例及各種證據。考慮特定聽眾的知識和經驗,加入必要的解釋,與聽眾的經驗產生連結,迎合聽眾的動機與價值觀。

組織架構


指各個概念的表達是否合乎邏輯順序。

組織架構不良的表達通常是語無倫次,根本不知道在說什麼。或是次序顛倒,無法確定各概念之間的順序與關係,需要用猜的。

而組織架構良好的表達則是內容有條理,可以了解各概念之間的順序與關係,不需要用猜的。最好的是非常有條理,會先宣告主題,事先告知概略綱要、用投影片、或做摘要。
